The Impact of Self-management Leadership on Organisational Creativity

چکیده

The objective of this paper was to empirically investigate through an industry survey, the impact of self-management leadership on the work environment dimensions that support creativity. The results of the study show a moderate and significant positive relationship between self-management leadership and the ‘stimulant’ dimensions of the work environment for creativity. The findings also indicate that the factors of the work environment that impede creativity, viz. workload pressure, and organisational impediment, are not associated with selfmanagement leadership. These findings confirm the value of self-management leadership in innovative organisations and suggest the need for leadership strategies that encourage employees to manage their own behaviour, develop greater freedom, autonomy, and self-motivation that are most conducive to creativity.
